Teacher's Critic
I'm a middle grades math teacher and I am not a fan of the iReady program AT ALL. I cannot count on the data that is provided by the program because my students despise it.
They take their diagnostics, but I'm sure they do not always give their best efforts. After being forced to do 45 minutes/week, plus their biweekly or monthly growth-monitoring, they are sick of the program. It is described as "degrading" by many of my kids. The way that the characters speak and the slow pace of the lessons are annoying.
Also, iReady has made end-of-the-year projections for my students that are much lower than what really happens. I think there is a definite discrepancy between the iReady projections and the Georgia Milestones results.
Please address these concerns so that you can provide an impactful resource to students for mathematics. Khan Academy is really showing you up, and their site is FREE.

I-Ready is the worst thing that's ever happened to me!
My math teacher makes my class do 2 i-Ready lessons each weekend. It sucks so bad!
I just did 6 lessons because I was behind trying to catch up. It only counted 2 of them! I did the quiz and everything! It spends 99.9999 percent of it's time talking about some trash and wasting your time.
The graphics are horrible and it is slow and has tons of bugs. You learn nothing from it except for some very *** jokes. If you are a parent who's kid has to do this make an agreement with the teacher or something! There are much better websites like ST Math of First In Math.
Whatever you do, just avoid i-Ready as much as possible. I hate it so much.
I hope you take my advice! Bye!

I ready is the WORST THING EVER
I ready lies a lot. I couldn't agree more with the negitive reviews and guess what, that *** hasn't changed.
I ready is flat out boring and the characters and animation me nausious. ANother thing is that it glitches so much, I could barely tell whats right and out administrators refuse to recognize how terrible i ready is. Another thing is how annoying it is. The "math" and "reading" is just 99% lame jokes that don't make any sense and 1% actual learning that is WRONG!
Yeah you heard me IT SUCKS. The animation hurts my eyes and when you start it teaches things you learn in kindergarten and when i get on when were reviewing, compound words the first thought that enters your mind: "Is this a joke that the administrators are pulling or is this seriously the site that they've been bragging about for so long?!" Unfortunately it was. I was like "You are kidding me" when I had started the first lesson in Math.
I could not believe how *** it was. HOnestly for the first few weeks I thought that they were gonna shut it down and I was really hoping they were but they didn't respond at all.
The Quality of Program is very low. Discourages learning
The program is slow, takes so long for statements to be made, graphics are 0 compared to other educational games that students have access to. Why isn't there any improvement to the instruction pace or quality of graphics being made?
My students don't like to use it. It is soooooooooooooo slow for them, makes them repeat instructions of half an hour or longer if it gets some kind of a glitch during the quiz, and they get so frustrated that they won't sit down on it again!
for younger students the pronunciation of the letters for phonics lessons is not clear, they easily confuse the sound of S and F. This program needs major improvement if it is to be used for schools.
I ready is the worst thing ever
First of all, all the students hate it and the quizzes teach the exact OPPOSITE of what they are supposed to teach, the only way I pass them if through hacking the answers. The voice acting is horrible and so is the god *** animation.
EVEN THE TEACHERS HATE THIS SOFTWARE BUT THE BOARD MAKES THEM USE IT.
I am just so annoyed since we have no free time and ruins all the kids in our school's childhood since we had to do a bunch of lessons during a BREAK. It needs to be deleted from the whole internet, it's just horrible and I don't get how people find it educational when it teaches easy math and literature.
- Lessons them selves
- Poor web design
- Entire site
I-ready repeat on test PLUS ADDS
- Tricking entire schools

If you want your kid to stay normal do not show this to them
It's just sad
I've been doing I-Ready for about two years now. Let me say, I absolutely hate it.
So do my math and language art teachers. It gives you problems my eight year old sister can do, and I'm in middle school. This will sound petty, but the character's voices are very annoying. It's hard to concentrate when your head hurts, not because of the difficultly of the problem, but because of the voice of the people (or should I say, computer) teaching it to you.
Half of the time, I'll put in the correct answer and it'll say it was wrong. In sixth grade, I-Ready attempted to teach me that in an addition problem, you're NOT supposed to carry the number until you are completely finished. That makes math nearly impossible to do, you're bound to make mistakes using that method. This will sound kind of weird, but there's this one character that apparently has a "crush" on another character and it's really awkward.
The whole time, the character is saying things like "He's so dreamy!" and I'm attempting to do math. It is distracting and kind of disturbing, to be honest. I haven't learned a single thing from this program. I would rather it just be taken away so we can have more time in the classroom learning things instead of staring at a computer screen for a half an hour.
Getting rid of I-Ready would also mean we could have more free time outside of school.
If a student really needs math practice, there are numerous websites that will adequately help, unlike I-Ready. I hope soon the school board will get rid of it.
Not even monkeys like I ready
Wow just wow if you didn't think that in today's society that the education system is lazy well I ready takes it a step further.if you hate painfully forced puns and stereotypes than I ready is not for you or anyone, please take note for the safety of you're child and anyone who uses this website. The animation is horrible, the jokes are obnoxious, and worst of all you get nothing out of it. Shure it may look like it's "educational" but it's just very dumb downed and disguised to look educational.
The company will try to presuade teachers into buying this hunk of garbage THAT EVEN MY TEACHERS AGREE THAT THIS SITE IS GARBAGE but we still use it becuase the state requires us too. Listen there is nothing wrong with educating kids from a computer BUT WHY DO WE HAVE TO USE THE MOST DUMBDOWNED SITE EVERMADE.
And this is coming directly from a kid and we speak that this site is garbage. Shure people will brush it off as we just don't like school and learning, while some of that might be true it's just that to many people have been ranting about I ready.........so I and many others agree that this site sucks AND DONT USE IT
I READY the reason i hate my school
im from ny i am a student from greenburgh academy an i ready is a waste of my time i tested to see if other reviews were true and they were(mostly) its a waste of money my school lost about 5,000$ off this site me and my friends do it complete it and it makes us to the exact same lesson over and over again i tried to contact the site they did not respond the animation is horrible its not educational that much its mostly jokes. and REALLY!
a character who is in a wheelchair is named.....
axel really you creators of this site you are offensive enough to make fun of the disabled this site's education is horrible im in 10th grade what am i getting? the differences of even and odd numbers my classmates have the same issue and teachers do NOTHING which is why im going on strike each time i am told to do iready i will protest against it and here is where i curse THIS $&*t site MAKES ME WANT TO BE F*&%ING RETARDED SO I CANT GET MAD AT THIS SITE this site is one reason why our education is going down and not up we need to make our future better by changing the present.
*** POOR
This is the biggest waste of anyones time and i would not wish this *** upon anyone else. if donald trump would like to make the internet great again they must start with this mediocre site known as iready down.
its really useless and dumb, even they arent smart enough to do math. if you really wanna know what this will turn your kid into.. it will dumb them to the maximum. i cannot even begin to tell you how much this idiocy is to me.
if you want your child to use this do a few *** poor lessons then not learn a thing you should definitly use this brand. The company is great though, its just the site im mad at.

Curriculum Associates - I-ready Program Review
I-ready is really bad. I've been using it all this school year and it sucks.
I have to redo lessons and the characters have whiny or irritating voices. It needs to be stopped
I-Ready SUCKS
Where do I start? The character's voices are SUPER annoying, the tutorials take forever, and it's just so dumb.
The lessons are confusing, and I have to do this bs EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!!!! If you don't pass a certain amount of points, it makes you take the same boring, annoying lessons all over again. This program looks and feels like it was made by a kindergarten student that doesn't know ANYTHING about computers. The characters also look like they were made by an Elementary schooler.
Bottom line: NEVER make your kids do I-Ready.
It's more like I-Not-Ready. Thank you for your time, case closed.
