When I first heard our school was replacing Reading Plus, I cheered. My friends and I wondered what the replacement would be. Nowadays, with one of my friends back at their home home in Indiana, where they still use Reading Plus, we have compared the two programs-Reading Plus and I-Ready-and come up with a cute little comparison of the two.

Reading Plus;I-Ready:

-Writing is available, can be saved, and can be directly sent to and even commented on by instructors;I-Ready is just lessons. Nothing else. Just. Lessons.

-Instructors can send notes freely between themselves and their students;I-Ready doesn't even bother reading E-Mails.

-Beautifully sorted passages make for easy suitability to a child's preferences;Nothing has anything to do with anything else.

-Achievements add a cute little touch, as well as a minor sense of competition;Students may only view a graph of their progress.

-Teachers can assign specific lessons;Teachers have no control whatsoever.

-Students can add an avatar for a sense of playfulness;Students can have a background and a 'study buddy', the latter of which ironically is never seen again if an animal of some sort is chosen.

-Students can actually CHOOSE lessons;Students have no choices outside of choosing whether to do Reading or Math.

-Students can view lessons that have yet to be unlocked, as well as lessons that have been completed;Students cannot view anything but the current lesson.

-Mobile compatibility works like a charm, with no glitches or bugs to be found;I-Ready only has a desktop site.

-Every quiz taken by a student to begin Reading Plus is almost entirely unique, and a student retaking the quiz will never see the same questions;I-Ready's diagnostic tests are so repetitive, the stories/video "Clean, Seperate, Cook, and Chill", a historical thingy, and a Shakespeare play of some sort, as well as every question and its answers, were repeated 3 time in 5th Grade, and 1 more time in 6th.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
